preach it, judas!
Judas, the old traitor. He was the one who betrayed Jesus, who delivers it to the magistrates, he led the dramatic events of Good Friday, but also a easter. against blood-money he's henchmen to Jesus so they could take him prisoner and executed.
yes, Judas betrayed Jesus. he did so in every sense of the word: he betrayed him, his relationship and his friendship with him. He gave him a cruel treatment and death from. he betrayed Jesus to trust in him and his love for him.
but he also betrayed the world out there, who is Jesus, he took his secret to the public, he revealed the essence of Jesus as Messiah to the people. He told them who the Son of God. where Peter denied everything, was Judas to Jesus, with whom he had spent three years. and he made public, who this Jesus is. the sign under which it happened, nothing to change this first.
and we do something different when we preach? we betray Jesus. we betray his message to those who are . Listen we know his secret and the treasure that is there to find him. But we betrayed him in the second sense, and we deliver it from. Not only that, we bind him with our own words, in our own language and give him so from the crowd. they can take it from us and hunt through their thoughts, their doubts and torture him to death with their fears.
one is not to have one without the other, not as long as we preach with human language to human ears. and yet we can not stop to speak of him and betray him. he has gone he goes in there, how God from the very beginning in the human language. He faces up to the betrayal. and so it was also Jesus, Judas set out on his way to say:
Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. Jn 13.31 b
