I spent the weekend on the Emergent Forum 2008 and spent an unusually good time. a weekend full of good, deep conversations with people who share my thoughts or they can follow.
Following drives me since Sunday evening to ask what it is exactly what I on emergent ideas, this way of thinking and life of the community so much. it is not the fun of deconstruction (which I have), it is not the fascination of post-modern philosophy (which is present with me), not the will, political animals to believe (I am extremely politically extreme). and certainly it is not as malicious could suggest the will to tinker, I set pieces from a private Christian system
the fascination that this movement has on me, first and first theological reasons. I see behind it a seriously comprehensive reconciliation of the will of God. if the fall is not only the breaking of the heart of the relationship of man to God, but also a breaking of the heart and a shift of all the relations of things and relations with each other thinks, then reconciliation means not only the healing of the individual's personal relationship to God, but the healing of relationships within the whole of creation. which includes the relationships between people, the relationship of humans to their environment and also the ratio of natural phenomena one with each other. all these relations were broken and shifted part of the reconciliation in the increase of the cross.
in the relationships between people, so in society, which means trouble for me above all imbalance in the treatment options, which an individual has, therefore, power and powerlessness. I think that has a reconciliation that would reach beyond personal salvation, a company, on target, in which the imbalance of power continuously smaller: a society without sexism, racism, do with shared decision making, with a maximum distribution of economic (ie money), not paternalism and manipulation - in the language of theologians: marked by humility and charity.
