Jim takes his wife to be. He hugs her. Too long to Mae to say that he is completely defeated. Mae probably feels that he is looking to bring in their power for the next few moments.

She still can not see your hand.

She feels that this is not a normal hug. He laid his head on her shoulder, holding on to her. We can look him in the face. Despite the scant light in the room, it is evident is how sad it. After a while Mae strikes him about the neck.

What happened?

He replaces from the embrace. His left hand slides down her back, then he sits up.

We see in the dim half-light Mae's profile. She has her hands still on his shoulders.

They (They) have not paid me.

He moved restlessly in her hands, she did not look in the face. The news is disastrous. She seems like a dull stupor.

Jim, he dares not even look at his wife's face:

you (They) made the fight invalid

and said it would have been embarrassing.

Now he again seeks eye contact. Mae goes with every movement of her husband as if it were internally very close to him, her face showing no emotion. They apparently tried to stay calm. Jim:

They (They) have taken away from me the license.

Mae opens his mouth, as it lacks air. She moves again nearer to her husband as if they see his face very well, and still wanted to hear something from him. Suddenly ..

Her husband sees her deeply shocked reaction does not, he bent down to the furnace after the fire to see.

Mae settles into a chair. It looks more as if her knees had given way. Thank God there was a chair.

Jim straightens up, puts away the handkerchief with which he had touched the hot handle of the oven door.

Mae sticks to the seat of the chair fes t. She pushes her arms through stiff, shrugs his shoulders as if to keep with all the force posture. Mae:

OK -

Jimmy sits down before her second on a chair. His mouth is open, as he would not be enough air or trying to say something. He looks down, but we feel he listens back to his wife. .... React as it is.

Now he wakes up, his eyes lurking for her.

He interrupts. He does not want that. His son had stolen food and home made, for fear that he, too, as other children in his class, is sent away when the parents do not have enough in the house, prepare three meals a day.

He shakes his head and looks away. He will not hear what it says Mae.

He still has not understood correctly, that he can not use his right hand.

Not only because it is in plaster.

The hand is not strong. With broken hand bones, you can not access the pain would leave a faint.

Mae shakes his head:

Jimmy, do not work you can.

Both are loud. Jim will not hear what she says. He leans forward. Your face:

Mae, of course I can work.

Mae is beside herself, she seems to cry. Again,
